Frequently asked questions

What Tie is, how it works, and how we keep your work verified.

Tie is the deterministic verification layer for human and AI-generated work. We review everything you and your tools produce, and flag anything that doesn't hold up before the work goes out.

Yes. Tie reviews work whether a person or an AI tool produced it. As more documents get drafted with AI, the bottleneck becomes review and quality control. Tie is the platform where all work is reviewed.

Deterministic means predictable and repeatable. Run the same check on the same document and you get the same result every time. Verification is the work of confirming something is accurate and true. Together, deterministic verification breaks review into a clear pass or fail, instead of a subjective judgment call that shifts from one run, or one reviewer, to the next.

That's the point of Tie. People and AI are both probabilistic, catching an error one time and missing it the next. Tie is purpose-built for quality control of human and AI-generated work, and designed to be as deterministic as possible. It's the consistent check that neither people nor AI can reliably do on their own.

Tick and tie is the finance practice of checking that every number agrees across a set of documents, then marking each as verified. It's one of the checks Tie automates. If a figure appears in a deck, a model, and a memo, Tie confirms all three match, even, and especially when, they are presented differently (think top-line vs sales vs revenue).

Historically, ticking and tying is done manually, with a pen and a highlighter, after many iterations, which takes too long and is very error-prone. Tie deterministically extracts every metric into a database, normalizes any ambiguity, and runs a series of deterministic verification layers to ensure the values are consistent within and across the documents, and that the logic checks out.

PowerPoint presentations, Excel files, Word documents, and PDFs. Tie reviews the work across a full stack of documents at once and guides you through the review process.

Security is built into every layer of Tie. Tie is SOC 2 Type I and Type II compliant, and our report is available on request. See our Security page for how we protect your documents and data.

Tie is trusted by public companies, investment banks, private equity funds, and more. Request access if you'd like to augment your review process.
